Bradford Manufacturing Week 2020

GESIPA UK has taken part in the annual Bradford Manufacturing Week - this year the experience being in the form of a complete virtual event.

Due to the current circumstances, the annual Bradford Manufacturing Week couldn't go ahead in the traditional sense. Instead of opening our doors to the students involved in our first session, we instead showed them around our premises and introduced them to life at GESIPA UK in the form of a virtual tour.

More than 40 secondary school students from five local schools joined us on the 6th of October as we took part in the initiative as a way of boosting apprenticeship numbers by creating more inspired, informed and ‘work ready’ applicants into the manufacturing sector.

Throughout the tour, students gathered an insight of the way GESIPA operates and were introduced to staff from multiple departments before taking part in a Q+A session.

We were also delighted to have our very own Jonathan Watson represent us on the apprentices panel later on in the week and GESIPA UK managing director Diana Scholefield join other business leaders from across the region on the panel of manufacturers live.

It is always an honour for GESIPA UK to be a part of such a fantastic initiative to educate young people about career opportunities in manufacturing.
