1959

In 1959, GESIPA® presents its blind rivets and blind rivet processing tools at the Hannover Messe trade fair for the first time and the industry professionals are impressed. Production capacity in Frankfurt is gradually increased and the range of blind rivets and tools continues to grow, opening up an ever-growing number of potential applications. The fantastic response at the trade fair leads to the relatively new company developing at an impressive rate and the first international business relations are set up as a result.

1965

GESIPA Blindnietvertriebs Ges.m.b.H. in Austria is established in 1965 as the first international subsidiary. The site is strategically based in the capital city, Vienna. The GESIPA premises in Vienna currently have storage space spanning 700&nbsp;m², enabling speedy delivery to customers in Austria and the bordering countries.&nbsp;

<b>GESIPA® production goes global</b>. Two further production sites in the UK and Brazil increase both the capacity and product range.Even at the very beginning, we considered <b>quality </b>to be one of the most important aspects of the production process.

1975

<b>GESIPA® celebrates its 20th anniversary.</b>By this point, the company has evolved to become an international enterprise with seven production and sales sites.In 1975, the <b>Walldorf production site </b>has a total production and storage space of 9000&nbsp;m² available. As a company, we were very proud of our perfectly optimised production workflow. When building the site, efficiency had been a number one priority at every stage – from raw material processing to shipping – and our sights were set firmly on the future.In 1975, the<b> first production site is opened in the USA</b>. GESIPA<sup>®</sup> Fasteners USA in Trenton, New Jersey (around one hour away from New York) opens its doors and consequently opens up access to the American market.&nbsp;

1979

<span id="content"><span style="font-weight: bold;">GESIPA<sup>®</sup> blind rivets and processing tools</span></span> have proven to be reliable in a number of complex applications. Customers from the automotive, household appliance, railway carriage production and caravan industries rely on blind rivet technology from GESIPA<sup>®</sup>.

1980

<span id="content">The company is devastated by a stroke of fate when the founder of GESIPA<sup>®</sup> Blindniettechnik GmbH, Dr&nbsp;Hans-Georg&nbsp;Biermann, dies suddenly at the young age of 51. From that point onwards, his wife, <span style="font-weight: bold;">Ibeth&nbsp;Biermann</span>, manages the company, injecting plenty of expertise, passion and care into it.&nbsp;</span>

1990

<span id="content">GESIPA<sup>®</sup> bought the brand<span style="font-weight: bold;"> Olympic Fastener Systems,</span></span> including its production facility in Vivian, Louisiana. Folding type and structural blind rivets start to be produced there from now on, fulfilling the global demand.&nbsp;

1991

<span id="content">After the political shift, GESIPA<sup>®</sup> acquires the company <span style="font-weight: bold;">Thüringer Verbindeelemente GmbH in Thal, Thuringia</span>. After a great deal of lucrative investment into this site, GESIPA<sup>®</sup> Thal has evolved to become one of the most modern companies within the blind rivet industry and by this point has come to be <span style="font-weight: bold;">an ultra-modern GESIPA<sup>®</sup> Group</span> production facility.</span>

1992

<b>Roland&nbsp;Biermann</b> takes over management of the company as the second generation.The Group ups its international presence with success. The GESIPA® <b>PolyGrip® multi-range rivet</b> and the pioneering invention of the first battery-powered blind riveting tool mark further high points in the history of the company.

1994

<span id="content">Upon acquiring the company<span style="font-weight: bold;"> Weber &amp; Ochsenfeld in Siegen</span>, GESIPA<sup>®</sup> gains a company with extensive expertise in the field of cold forming and formed parts. Owing to capacity constraints, <span style="font-weight: bold;">W+O</span></span> (the name of the company at the time) relocates to Olpe in 1995. Over the years, many positive synergies are forged between GESIPA<sup>®</sup> and W+O. The total production and storage space at W+O Niettechnik now spans a total of 5700&nbsp;m². Since 2016, W+O has also been called GESIPA Blindniettechnik GmbH and it has a focus on solid riveting.

1996

<b>is founded </b>in 1996 in <b>France</b>, marking the start of the establishment of additional European sales organisations. In 2010, GESIPA sas relocates to Valence.At the Walldorf facility, the new <b>technology centre</b> is officially opened. Since then, all of the technical departments have been housed there under one roof.&nbsp;

1997

<span id="content">In the years that follow, sales organisations are set up in these other countries: <span style="font-weight: bold;">Poland</span> (1997), <span style="font-weight: bold;">Spain </span>(1999), <span style="font-weight: bold;">Czech Republic </span>(2001) and <span style="font-weight: bold;">Hungary </span>(2002). The growing markets in Eastern Europe make it necessary to increase capacity for delivery and customer service accordingly.&nbsp;</span>

<b>Mocksville in North Carolina</b>, the company GESIPA Fasteners USA Inc. Action Tool is added to the North American site.&nbsp;

2001

<b>TAURUS® series</b> is launched on the market. Thanks to the patented grip mechanism and jaws system, the new GESIPA® tool series is a novel invention boasting an incredibly light weight and maximum setting force. Compressed air is used optimally, guaranteeing that efficiency is at its best and operating cycles are fast. With TAURUS® tools, vibrations and recoil are kept to a minimum and noise is silenced. With the tools in the TAURUS® series having been extended and continually developed, they promise cost-effectiveness and ease of operation to this day.

2002

<sup>®</sup> acquires the Danish company UNIBOLT and thereby adds to the range of formed parts. UNIBOLT's core business is the production of wear screws for agricultural equipment and plough bolts. UNIBOLT now no longer exists within the GESIPA® Group.

2008

<sup>®</sup> Blindniettechnik GmbH becomes part of the international SFS Group in a move that will guarantee that the company is well equipped to overcome the exciting challenges it will face on the international markets in the future by coming up with innovative ideas.&nbsp;

2011

<span id="content">GESIPA<sup>®</sup> sets up a sales office within the<span style="font-weight: bold;"> SFS China Group</span> in Guangzhou, which is located close to Hong Kong.</span>

2014

<span id="content"></span><div class="csc-textpic-text">In 2014, GESIPA<sup>® </sup>starts to produce blind rivets at the newly constructed facility in<span style="font-weight: bold;"> Nansha, China</span>. Nansha is situated in the Pearl River Delta area of the Guangzhou District in the south of China, directly opposite Hong Kong. Products manufactured at the Nansha facility are primarily used to satisfy the demand on the <span style="font-weight: bold;">Asian markets</span>.&nbsp;</div>

2016

On 23 September 2016, the groundbreaking ceremony for the extension work to double the production and storage capacity to 15,000 square metres takes place at the GESIPA® facility in Thal, Thuringia. The construction project known as "EVOTION" has the aim of turning the Thal site into a GESIPA® centre of excellence for blind rivets. The name "Evotion" was created by combining the words "motion", "evolution" and "emotion" to reflect the development, progress and commitment demonstrated by the company and its employees.
