<p>OEM applications are characteristically different and challenging. Often, design modifications are required to a rivet, rivet nut or a rivet nut stud in order for our products to fulfill the requirements of the application and the Customer.</p>
<p>A recent success story came about when a redesign of a standard stock rivet nut stud helped one of our automotive customers. The customer in question approached us to design a rivet nut stud for very specific and tight application parameters to be used in a steering column. The design team at Gesipa Keighley worked on a standard M6 rivet nut stud design modifying it to give a high clamp with minimal set length in the steering column. This was done by reducing the counter bore just enough to grip the required material without lowering the torque and using different materials to ensure correct setting for the application.</p>
<p>Poke-yoke troubleshooting was conducted at our facility in Keighley to check the performance of this redesigned rivet nut stud during assembly. During this process, the vision inspection system picks the product up and rotates it in front of the camera checking every rivet nut stud for Short assembly, Rivet Nut length, Stud length, Crimp root diameter, Crimp crest diameter, Malformed crimp and Rivet Nut head diameter.</p>
<p>Gesipa started manufacturing a standard range of rivet nut stud in its UK facility in Keighley, West Yorkshire in 2010 and now produces sizes M4 to M12 in a variety of materials and stud lengths to match customer requirements.</p>
<p>Currently being used in Automotive, Refrigeration plant, HVAC, securing panels and hoses and electrical components etc; rivet nut studs have huge potential in the aluminium extrusion market and various other applications using thin metals.<br />

After spending nearly 2 years exploring the market for rivet nut studs and getting good feedback primarily from automotive sector, we decided to invest in three all-new rivet nut stud machines.The three rivet nut stud machines will help enhance our production capabilities and flexibility. It allows to fit a wide range of rivet nut stud sizes from M4 to M12 and to develop special threads and nuts to suit specific customer requirements.<br />
We take pride in our quality and strive to improve our performance each day with more versatile, controlled and accurate production capabilities.<br />
Some of the latest additions to our wide array of machines in the facility are</p>

<li> Assembly and finishing machines </li>
<li>  Heading Machines </li>
<li>Steel-degreasing machine </li>
<li>New Eyelet machine to support diversity on rivet manufacturing </li>

A new Inspection machine to enhance our testing capabilities </li>
<li> Machine computers to verify the product against the design while still in production </li>

<p>To maintain our Quality standards, we are constantly looking to enhance our machine portfolio and only use reliable and industry trusted suppliers.We also believe in developing new product designs and different concepts. A milestone was set with the development of a ‘Profile rivet’ designed and developed for one of our automotive customer application, saving them thousands of Pounds. We now manufacture a wide range of Profile rivets available in various sizes and head styles in our UK facility.<br />

Rivet nut studs can be used to fasten material such as aluminium where welding is not an option. Available in widest grip range with stud thread range of M4 to M12 and stud length from 20-90mm the maximum nut length can go upto 25mm.</p>
